Meet the Team

James R. Harrison Jr. – Founder, Director of Communication

James Harrison founded F1 America, LLC in 2019, hoping to spread the joy of Formula One throughout the United States of America and beyond. Harrison started his journalistic career at Eden Prairie High School, as a sports writer and photographer, as well as the business manager, of the school’s paper, The Eyrie. During that time, Harrison was hired by Bleacher Report to participate in their Writing Internship program. Once completed, Harrison served as a syndicated columnist by Bleacher Report until they were obtained by Turner Communication in 2012.

While studying at the University of Minnesota, Harrison created The Grandstand, LLC, a digital media company that employed more than 20 communication, journalism, and broadcast journalism students from around the world, and accrued more than 250,000 annual readers in more than 100 countries, on all seven continents, in just 18 months. The Grandstand received support and sponsorships from FanDuel, DraftKings, Bovada, and William Hill, among other companies. The Grandstand was featured on Bleacher Report, ESPN, NBC Sports, and NFL Network, among others, in it’s 18-month stint.

Now as a full-time executive at a Fortune 1,000 company, Harrison writes as a hobby, and hopes to spread his passion for Formula One with many Americans who have never been exposed to the fastest sport on Earth.
